      Book  This book might be a bit much to lay on a second year head, it is comprehensive, but complex. There are chapters on sediments and soils (1 and 3) that are thorough. You might find Coasts and Caves useful (in chapters 7 and 8), Occupation deposits II (chapter 11) and the field and laboratory methods can be useful further reading (chapters 15 and 16)
